I usually just leave it at the default of "12345" and I adjust the X and Y parameters to get the Shaking effect, but it would be helpful to have a detailed description of what the "Seed" option does. Yes, I'd also like to know more about exactly what the "Seed" option does.
#Tvpaint keyframer manual
Nothing at all in the manual about it either. It would be good to be able to apply a camera shake to the scene in a nondestructive way and then render to a separate layer.Īlso, still have not clue what the "Seed" option is. The Shaker part of the manual is essentially devoid of explanation so needs a total rewrite, but it would be good to state that the shaker only works on the layer you apply it to. I do wish the manual would make this clear, since the FX works inconsistently in this regard. That said, +1 for adding a Render Tab to the Shake FX. Then you can hide the original clip to play all your project in its continuity (without the pre-shaked version). Or modify /fix something wrong in the source, just do it, then clear the "shaked" layer, and re-apply the Shake_FX again.Īnother (and clever) alternative is to duplicate you clip first,Īnd on the duplicated one, keep only a blank layer, set the Image Source to the previous (original) Clip,

So, you will keep safe the layers structure of your clip before the shake effect, if you want to modify it lately, So your blank layer will preview a sort of "pre-merge" of all your visible layers, then set the shake_FX and apply it,įinally, hide the original (source) group of layers. In the stack, you can start with an Image Source first, set it to "Display", it's not necessary to merge first All layers imo, The former is easier, but obviously the merged shaking version needs to be saved as a separate file since you lose all your layers. The answer here is that I first need to merge all layers and then shake that layer, or shake all the layers independently. Also, still have not clue what the "Seed" option is. It would be good to be able to apply a camera shake to the scene in a nondestructive way and then render to a separate layer. It only renders the layer you apply the Shaker to, so that means that my blank layer would be the one shaking, which would show nothing. Having used Keyframer, I made a layer to render to, which was blank and would, I presumed, shake the layers in the project and render them to the blank layer, just as Keyframer does. David Nethery solved it (thank you!!) and it is so simple. I opened it again and there it is, working, but here, nothing. Oddly enough, I have done a shake on another scene and it does work.

This might be asking a lot, so totally fine if you don't have the time to look at it, but wanted to explain my frustration with this not working. I would be happy to send this to you to look at, if you feel like it, but would prefer not to put it on a public forum.

I render and I get absolutely no shake at all. When I play in preview, I see no shake effect.

I have left Seed at 12345 and still have no clue what that is. I have made a blank layer to render it on. I set to apply on current layer, all instances, frames. So the shaking should be violent on frame 5 and subside to no shaking over the 12 frames. 12 frames later, keyframe set at 0 again. So following your guide, I set the keyframe at 0 and on the frame just before impact (frame 4), I set keyframe 0 again. I have a character landing on the floor and so I want a brief, but sudden Y movement when they hit the floor to make a camera shake from the impact. I can see exactly how this works, but for my scene, it just isn't working. This is an excellent tutorial and I really appreciate the detail and the file.
